The Maserati 160 "T4" will be the only one to stay in price list in a continuous manner from 1953 to '59. Has a single-cylinder engine with rods and rocker arms, camshaft in the crankcase driven by gears. The two valves in the head are mutually inclined of 80° and controlled by rocker arms with threaded register for the backlash adjustment. The head in light alloy with valve seats and guides reported, with a cover in a single piece held by a stud with a blind nut. Combustion chamber hemispherical, with spark plug located on the right. Cast iron cylinder with integral barrel and piston in aluminum with sky slightly convex. Classic the setting of the crankshaft, in three parts (two driveshafts multiple the coupling axis) joined together through forcing the press forged connecting rod in a single piece, with head which works on rollers and foot on bronze bushing. Two main bearings, both involutes. In the rear part of the base, that it is constituted by two semicarter, è housed the gearbox. Frame in steel tubes to double cradle, copn double rear triangolatura.
