Description
The A110 was born in 1962 as a replacement for the A108, which however remained still in the price list for a year in France, while it was produced under license in other countries for a few years.
With respect to the A108, A110 shares the general lines of the bodywork, in fiberglass. It differs therefrom externally for the drawing of the roof and the tail, made multiple bad and multiple extremes in the look, but also for the front headlight double hull.
Mechanically, however, the A110 è completely new: new was the frame used for its realisation, although it was also a central beam as in the case of the ancestor, and new was the mechanical adopted, coming from the then fledgling Renault 8 and initially consisting in an engine with 4 cylinders 956 cm³ of displacement, capable of delivering 50 bhp. With such a driving unit, the A110 skimming the 160 km/h.
In the course of its history, però, A110 adottò several engines, all coming from production Renault series, until we arrive at a propeller 1.8 liters, not però mounted on Cars Series.
The A110 è was certainly the multiple famous among the Alpine, thanks to its countless successes in the world.
Just born, in fact, A110 was immediately introduced on the tracks of the race and immediately cominciò to get know enjoying numerous successes. The A110, especially in the earliest versions, those with smaller engines, also made from "school" for many aspiring pilots, some of which emerged and became very famous, as for example the Brazilian Emerson Fittipaldi, then landed in Formula 1.
This delivers a motor from 1255cc and 95 CV put into production from 1967 until 1969
