HISTORY: Amadori was an Italian foundry in Bologna which was acquired at the beginning of the sixties by Campagnolo for the production of Magnesium wheel rims; then used on many sports cars or racing cars of prestigious houses such as Lancia, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Abarth, De Tomaso, Iso Rivolta or Bizzarrini. Thanks to the experience of Amadori on Magnesium alloys, produced by the English company Elektron, the rims produced by "Campagnolo / Amadori" were enormously successful thanks to their peculiarity of combining lightness and strength.
In those years the die-casting techniques of the company became so technologically advanced that they were used for the construction of parts of space satellites, commissioned by NASA, and in the aeronautical sector.
Thanks to the experience accumulated, the company decided to produce futuristic brake calipers for the time. It was a monolithic cast magnesium forceps (in the special Elektron 21 or EV31A alloy according to the new regulations), with internal oil passages and a single opening for processing.
At the time these calipers were mounted on: Ferrari 250 (various models); Bizzarrini 5300 GT competition; Maserati Birdcage; Bandini; Aguzzoli Alfa Romeo and other prestige or racing cars of the 60s and 70s.
