The beautiful Giulietta Sprint Speciale was the epitome of the aerodynamic design of the great Franco Scaglione when he was designing for Bertone in the mid-1950s.
After designing the very pioneering cars and prototypes BAT 5, BAT 7, BAT 9 from 1953 to 1955 which impressed the entire automotive world of the time for the audacity of their aerodynamic design, they commissioned him to design an aerodynamic Alfa Romeo that could also be produced in a small number of cars.
This is how this masterpiece of "sculpture in movement", a pioneer in the use of aerodynamics, was born from the Bertone project by Franco Scaglione.
When Alfa Romeo presented it at the Turin Motor Show in October 1957, it called it its "Super Aerodynamic" sports car.
The Alfa Romeo Giulietta SS had the best aerodynamic "cd" on a production car which was achieved in factory tests in 1957!
In 1959, when production began, it was considered the most aerodynamic car in production to date.
Until then and for more than 20 years, no other car with a lower drag coefficient was designed!
Our car is one of the first Giulietta Sprint Speciale produced, number 112 since the start of production in 1959!
The 12th Giulietta SS produced after the first 100 low-nose cars!
It was sold in 1960 to one of the largest producers in Greece. It has remained in the same family since 1960 until now.
With matching numbers and only 37500 km.
With Borrani spoked wheels as an expensive option at that time very few Giulietta SS were supplied.
The car has never been restored except a new paint many years ago. --One of the first cars produced in 1959.
