MG C Roadster
History of one of the rare sins of the MG, committed for political motives and commercial strategy.
In 1967 the small brand English, author of the?magic? Midget and of unbelievable records, I place side by side to his/her sporting car of great success, the MGB, a version MGC of almost double capacity. The heavy 6 cylinders of three liters? how a heart ipertrofico? I denaturalize the nervous and stimulating temperament of the MGB (over 500.000 united produced in 18 years). Only 4544 MGCs found clients prepared to appreciate the speed and the tourist elegance of it. But not all the evil harms: for his/her relative rarity, today the MGC and very appreciated by the collectors!
In Italy, of original (Italian) and not of importation?, they perhaps labor to be in a palm of hand!!! The MGC when I arrive in Italy in the 1967: 6 cylinders? and 200 all?now?for 2.700.000 liras.
Today only sample foresees in Italy! Belonged to important Italian character!
Exemplary exclusively Italian, produced in 1968 in the establishments of the MG (of the group British Motor Corporation).One of the 4544 samples with the frieze MG C produced by the British fortissimamente wanted by Italian Collector! The MG C and a?sporting motorcar produced from the auto House MG (of the group British Motor Corporation, then British Leyland) among 1967 and the 1969. Was a MG B (increased!) with the motor 6 cylinders in line of 2912 cm3s of the Austin-Healey 3000. Available in version spider that GT (that is coupe) the MG C introduced important and substantial differences in comparison to the MG B MK 2: raised again anterior (motor) chest and with taking d?air, inside finishes more taken care of. The other changes to the vain motor (necessary to lodge the bulkiest 6 cylinders) were visible. Also the rest of the car introduced other variations (strengthened brakes, bars increased stabilizzatrici, different relationship of the steering gear, wheels from 15 thumbs). The maximum power of 145 cv, guaranteed good performances (193 Km / h). Thought as heir of the Austin-Healey 3000, the MG C he/she remained in production up to the 1969. The MG C Roadster was produced in 4544 samples.
